We present experimental results for the magnon thermal conductivity κ_mag of several one-dimensional S=1/2 spin systems, like spin ladders and chains. We discuss in detail the different scattering mechanisms of magnons in the spin ladder system (Sr,Ca,La)₁₄Cu₂₄O₄₁, i.e. scattering on static defects, phonons, magnons and holes. We compare these results with the magnetic heat transport in the anisotropic ladder compound CaCu₂O₃ and the spin chain material (Sr,Ca)CuO₂.
