Molecular Dynamics and Langevin dynamics methods are applied to investigate mesoscopic systems of charged dust particles in a three-dimensional spherical parabolic confinement potential. Different types of dust-dust interactions are studied. We compare shell populations and shell radii with known theoretical models. Influence of screening effects on thermodynamical and geometrical properties are discussed. Known experimental results are also compared with numerical simulations [1]. It is shown that a model with statically screened dust-dust interaction and confinement which does not depend on screening gives the best agreement with the clusters, observed in Ref.[2].
