Reflectivity in shock wave fronts — •Thomas Raitza, Heidi Reinholz, August Wierling, and Gerd Roepke — Rostock university, Universitaetsplatz 3, 18051
For the reflection coefficient R of shock-compressed dense Xenon plasmas new results at pressures of 1.6 – 20 GPa and temperatures around 30 000 K are interpreted, see [4]. Reflectivities typical for metallic systems are found [1] at high densities. A consistent description of the measured reflectivities is archieved [2,3] if a finite width of the shock wave front is considered. A new approach for a shock wave front profile is discussed. Several mechanisms to give a physical explanation are shown.
