Knowledge of parton distributions and their impact on LHC physics — •Alexander Glazov — Notkestrasse 85, Hamburg, 22607, DESY
Knowledge of the parton distribution functions (PDFs) plays a critical role for the physics program at hadron colliders. Recent calculations of the production cross sections at NNLO QCD opened a new opportunity for precision predictions at hadron machines, making accurate determination of PDFs even more valuable. For the LHC, the central rapidity range corresponds approximately to the x-Bjorken kinematic domain covered by HERA. I review recent determinations of PDFs based on HERA and other experimental results, impact of the upcoming measurements, and their implications for the LHC physics.
