Neutrinoless Double Beta Decay: Predictions and Implications — •Werner Rodejohann — TU München

We present predictions for the effective mass governing neutrinoless Double Beta Decay. The physical implications of a measured value or an improved limit on the effective mass are discussed. In particular, we focus on distinguishing the normal from the inverted mass hierarchy. We show how neutrino oscillation precision measurements in combination with searches for neutrinoless Double Beta Decay allow for the identification of the neutrino mass matrix.
