Search for the H→ ττ→ 2l 4ν decay in the vector boson fusion production channel with the ATLAS detector — •Chrysostomos Valderanis, Sandra Horvat, Sergei Kotov, Hubert Kroha, and Susanne Mohrdieck-Möck — Max-Planck-Institut für Physik, München
One of the major questions within the Standard Model is the existence of the Higgs boson and the value of its mass. For a low-mass Higgs boson (mH<140 GeV), one of the most prominent detection channels in hadron colliders is the one in which Higgs is produced in the vector boson fusion channel and subsequent decays into two tau leptons. Motivated by the high lepton identification efficiency and momentum resolution of the ATLAS detector, we explore the observability of H→ ττ→ 2l 4ν decays with a full simulation of the ATLAS detector.
