ZEUS is one of two experiments studying e-p interactions at the HERA collider. Precise knowledge of the luminosity is required to precisely determine the cross-sections of physics processes. The luminosity is measured using the rate of photons produced in the well known bremsstrahlung process epep γ. The upgrade of the HERA accelerator has provided much increased collider luminosity. The intense synchrotron radiation field, as well as the high probability of several bremsstrahlung photons in one bunch-crossing, poses new experimental challenges. An overview of a new detector, the Luminosity Spectrometer, is given. Operational experience and performance in the first two years are described .
