The high frequency peaked BL Lac object 1ES1218+304 at a redshift of z=0.182 was observed in January 2005, using the MAGIC Imaging Air Cherenkov telescope. Gamma-rays above ~100GeV are detected. The spectrum can be well described by a steep power law.
