Alignment of the LHCb inner tracker modules — •Florin Maciuc — Max-Planck-Institut für Kernphysik, Saupfercheckweg 1, 69117 Heidelberg

The alignment of the LHCb inner tracking system is treated as a multiparameter problem in the frame of the linear and non-linear variational models. A benchmark model for LHCb inner tracker is used together with the associated Monte Carlo particle tracks. These kind of track samples provide input for distinctive algorithms that evaluate the misalignments.

Misalignment resolution and computing time for each algorithm are compared. Beside these, the solution stability and the misalignment range within which the algorithm is applicable are other criteria to select the optimal alignment method for the real detector.

Alternative definitions of internal and external degrees of freedom, in parallel with the associated constraints, are chosen in order to facilitate a subsequent global alignment of LHCb detector, optimize run time and get a realistic description. Misalignment effects on the track dynamical parameters are quantified.
