Magnetotransport in Sr2CrWO6 thin films — •Petra Majewski, Stephan Geprägs, Andrea Boger, Matthias Opel, and Rudolf Gross — Walther-Meissner-Institut, Bavarian Academy of Sciences, Walther-Meissner-Str. 8, 85748 Garching, Germany
We report on the
fabrication and characterization of thin film samples of
Sr2CrWO6 by PLD (Pulsed Laser Deposition). The growth
process was monitored by RHEED (reflection high energy electron
diffraction) and the high crystalline quality of the thin films
was checked by X-ray diffraction. The Curie temperature TC was
found to exceed 400K from SQUID magnetization measurements. The
magnetotransport properties of the samples were investigated in
the temperature range from 5K to 300K and magnetic fields up to
14T. Hereby the magnetic field was applied in several directions
with respect to the thin films. Preliminary results indicate that
the transport properties are close to a metal-insulator
transition. We also discuss an interesting fine structure in the
MR at low fields, which is highly
sensitive on the direction of the applied magnetic field.
