The interaction of few-electrons heavy ions, at intermediate energies, with atoms in solid state targets provide a tool to investigate fundamental processes which lead to the population of different exited states in projectiles under the influence of strong central field, i.e. in highly charged ions with high atomic number Z. Collisions of Lead ions having one, two and three electrons, at 110 MeV/u, provided by the SIS/ESR heavy ion facility at GSI, with Aluminium solid targets have been investigated. This contribution will report on the analysis of x-ray emission spectra measured in coincidence with the projectile final charge state.
