We consider planar helium driven by an electromagnetic field. Non-dispersive two-electron wave packets propagating along classical periodic orbits were previously identified in the Floquet spectrum. It was shown that the autoionization rates of such wave packets, in a two dimensional configuration space, are orders of magnitude larger than in a configuration space restricted to one spatial coordinate. Here we study how a transverse confinement of the electronic motion by an additional static electric field affects the wave packets’ lifetimes.
