Pump-Probe-Spectroscopy of C60− and C70− using Hollow-Capillary-Compressor — •Abdollah Malakzadeh, Pascal Didier, Christine Wehrstein, Raphael Kuhnen, and Bernd v. Issendorff — Physikalisches Institut, Universität Freiburg, Stefan-Meier-Str. 21, 79104 Freiburg
The electronic valence structure of fullerenes is determined by the delocalized π-band which can be seen as a spherical two-dimensional electron gas. This makes fullerenes interesting model systems for the study of excitation and relaxation processes in a highly correlated many-electron systems.
In photoelectron-spectra of C60− and C70− irradiated by fs-laserpulses multiphoton-electron detachment processes have been observed. In order to study the pulse length dependence of this effects the pulses of the amplified 100fs Ti:Sa-lasersystem have been shortened by spectral broadening in hollow capillary waveguides. The compressor gives pulses of 25fs at 200µ J pulse energy centered at 790nm wavelength. The short pulses increase the higher order effects in the photoelectron-spectra.
