Cryogenic detectors could be the ideal instruments to demonstrate for the first time coherent neutrino nucleus scattering (CNNS) at a nuclear power station, as they offer the potential to detect even very small recoil energies. The development of these detectors focuses on low energy threshold, good energy resolution and a massive target (few hundred grams), as well as background rejection possibilities. In future experiments CNNS as a pure neutral current interaction reaction could be used to search for new physics like a neutrino magnetic moment or non-standard neutral current ineractions.
