The 120Sn(γ,γ′) reaction was studied at 7.5 and 9.1 MeV endpoint energies of the incident bremsstrahlung spectrum at the superconducting Darmstadt electron linear accelerator S-DALINAC. Dipole transition strength distributions are extracted for 120Sn and compared with existing data for 120Sn [1], 116,124Sn [2] and 130,132Sn [3]. Furthermore a fluctuation analysis is applied to the photon scattering spectra to estimate the amount of the unresolved strength hidden in background due to the fragmentation of the strength.
