Electroweak quantum effects at TeV colliders — •Stefano Pozzorini — Max-Planck-Institut für Physik, München
The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and the International Linear Collider (ILC) will explore the interactions of the Standard Model constituents at energies well above the electroweak scale. In this energy region, scattering processes receive large quantum corrections originating from virtual W and Z bosons that are emitted and absorbed by the scattering particles. These electroweak corrections grow logarithmically with the scattering energy. At 1 TeV their impact on cross sections can reach tens of percent at one loop and several percent at two loops. These loop effects will play an important role for the interpretation of many precision measurements at the LHC and the ILC.
After a general introduction to electroweak corrections at the TeV scale, we review recent phenomenological studies and theoretical progress in this field.
