H.E.S.S. Observations of Active Galactic Nuclei — •Wystan Benbow for the H.E.S.S. collaboration — Max Planck Institut fuer Kernphysik, Heidelberg, Germany
The H.E.S.S. experiment, an array of four imaging atmospheric-Cherenkov telescopes located Namibia, is used to search the sky for astrophysical gamma-ray emission above ~100 GeV. Many groundbreaking studies of both galactic and extragalactic phenomena at these energies have been enabled by the unprecedented sensitivity of H.E.S.S. Observations of Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) comprise a major part of the scientific studies performed by H.E.S.S. (~30% of the total observations). Recent results of the H.E.S.S. AGN program will be presented.
