Different observations of candidate neutrino sources tell us that their electromagnetic emission is highly variable and often shows a burst-like behaviour. According to several models one can expect that the neutrino emission from those sources have a similar character. This assumption leads to an idea to develop the so called multimessenger approach in the neutrino and gamma-ray regions. The standard time-integrated analysis is not sensitive to burst-like neutrino source behaviour. Therefore we propose a dedicated time variability analysis with a much higher potential of detecting a neutrino burst. We report the results of a time variable analysis of AMANDA-II data for selected sources. Its aim is to find time structures for the neutrino events coming from a certain direction, which are not compatible with the background hypothesis. By using a time clustering algorithm, while respecting the limits coming from the time integrated analysis, we put no constraints on the time scale of the signal. The final goal - in a case of positive neutrino burst detection - is to compare the outcomes of this analysis with gamma-ray light curves in a search for time correlations.
