Results of the ATLAS Pixel Systemtest — •Daniel Dobos — Universität Dortmund, Dortmund, Germany
The ATLAS Pixel detector will provide 3 high precision space points per track, only few centimeters away from the interaction point for the tracking of the LHC experiment ATLAS at CERN, Geneva. It consists of 1744 hybrid silicon Pixel detector modules arranged in 3 cylindrical layers and 3 endcap disks on both sides. High integration density and the huge (80 Million) total amount of channels require a complex and fast readout and reliable supply chain. The final data acquisition, power supply, monitoring and interlock chain has been assembled for one of the endcaps with 144 modules. Possible tuning and operation strategies and procedures have been studied and optimized. Results of the module tuning capabilities, optical communication and tuning capabilities and sensor characteristics are presented. An analysis of cosmic data taken with external scintillator triggers is shown.
