Several extensions of the Standard Model predict decays of a Higgs boson into non-interacting or only weakly interacting particles which are hence invisible for the detector. The production of an invisibly decaying Higgs boson in weak boson fusion has been proven to have the highest sensitivity among all production processes given that the ATLAS experiment provides an efficient trigger. The signature of this signal is characterised by two forward jets, with large rapidity separation, and large missing transverse momentum. The most challenging part of the trigger chain for this final state topology is the Level-1 as it has to reduce the huge QCD background by several orders of magnitude and at the same time select a large fraction of signal events. We discuss several options for the trigger menu including for the first time jets in the forward calorimeters of the ATLAS detector. Background rate estimates and signal selection efficiencies for various combinations of central jets, forwards jets including topological cuts and missing transverse energy are presented.
