The ATLAS GridKa Computing Federation — •John Kennedy — Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München

The ATLAS computing infrastructure in Germany consists of a federation or cloud of LCG Tier-2 sites around the GridKa Tier-1. Currently, in this cloud are 6 sites in Germany, complemented by three more sites in the neighboring countries, Poland, Czech Republic, Switzerland. According to the plans laid out in the ATLAS computing model, a common and coordinated operation of this cloud required, in order to distribute datasets, production and user-analysis jobs to the sites involved.

This talk presents an overview of the current status of the Tier-1 and Tier-2 centers with special attention being paid to the role of the Tier-1 and the challenges faced in the coming year.
