Dandelions-II, the second iteration of the ”Dutch Aerosol and Nitrogen Dioxide Experiments for vaLIdation of OMI and SCIAMACHY” took place in September 2006 at the Cabauw experimental site in the Netherlands (52∘N, 4.9∘E). The objective of this campaign is the validation of satellite instruments and the intercomparison between ground-based measurements of NO2, O3 and aerosols. Here, the results of two Bremen MAX-DOAS (multi-axis differential optical absorption spectroscopy) instruments, measuring in the UV and visible spectral regions, for tropospheric NO2 will be presented. From these measurements, the tropospheric NO2 profiles could be derived using the different viewing geometries, the retrieved O4 column and radiative transfer calculations. The results of this profile retrieval are compared to data from two NO2 in-situ monitors measuring at ground level and 200 m altitude during the campaign. Further comparisons with other DOAS measurements, NO2 lidar and satellite data are also shown.
