The structural, electric, and magnetic properties of the solid solution Bi1−xLaxFe1−xMnxO3 (0≤x≤0.1) have been investigated. Thin films have been grown by a sol-gel spin-coating method on (111)Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si substrates. The incorporation of both (La3+, Mn3+) cations in bismuth ferrite host lattice was found to improve dielectric, ferroelectric, and magnetic properties. A comparative study of 5%La-, 5%Mn-, and 5%LaMn- doped BiFeO3 has been undertaken with the aim of understanding the role of each doping element on the structure and electrical properties. Raman spectroscopy has been used for a detailed structural characterization, and the results obtained are compatible with our ferroelectric investigations.
