Microwave conductivity of superconducting aluminum films — •Katrin Steinberg and Martin Dressel — 1.Physikalisches Institut, Universität Stuttgart, Pfaffenwaldring 57, 70550 Stuttgart, Germany
BCS-Superconductors show a coherence peak in real part of the conductivity below the energy gap. We investigated the development of the coherence peak in thin aluminum films with different mean free path. Microwave measurements of the complex conductivity were done in a range from 45 MHz to 40 GHz down to 1.2 K. The temperature and frequency dependence of the coherence peak gives information about the quasiparticle scattering and coherence effects in a superconductor.
