Mapping of parent Hamiltonians: spin chains and the fractional quantum Hall effect — •Ronny Thomale and Martin Greiter — Institut für Theorie der Kondensierten Materie, Universität Karlsruhe, D 76128 Karlsruhe

Motivated by the striking similarities of the Gutzwiller wave function for S=1/2 spin chains and the Laughlin wave function for bosons at Landau level filling fraction ν=1/2, we establish a general mapping between the corresponding Hilbert spaces. We then employ this mapping to obtain a parent Hamiltonian for the spin systems starting from a parent Hamiltonian for the bosonic quantum Hall liquid.
