The Pygmy resonance in proton rich 32,34Ar isotopes is studied accounting up to three-particle–three-hole (3p3h) configurations and using the VUCOM interaction, based on the unitary correlator operator method.
Calculations using the consistent Hartree-Fock plus random phase approximation (HF+RPA) approach predict the appearance of a Pygmy peak at low excitation energies. Thus, confirming previous relativistic mean-field RPA results. The effects of configuration mixing beyond the 1p1h were investigated using the No-Core Shell Model in an appropriate HF basis.
