Dusty plasmas are of great interest not only because they can give some new insights into plasma physics but also because they can serve as a model system for fluid dynamics and solid state physics. As a result of the highly charged dust particles, these systems become strongly correlated and often arrange in interesting structures [1]. Here, we investigate a one component Yukawa plasma limited in radial movement by a parabolic confinement potential but unrestricted in the lateral direction. This system is an expansion of the 2-d plasma crystal experiments[2], where the particles form a layer of nested ring structures. The presented structures, similar to those of Carbon nanotubes are unique in the chains created laterally which were found to be dependent on the density, the screening parameter in the Yukawa interaction. The effect of finite temperature on the stability of these structures is analyzed and compared with 2-d clusters.
