The International Stellarator/Heliotron Confinement database is a joint effort of the stellarator community. Within the assessment of global confinement data and their scaling properties, the capabilities for the extrapolation of confinement properties towards reactor operation are an important issue for next step devices. In this contribution, an overview of the database along with considerations on scalability are given.

The ISHCDB Collaboration is working under auspices of the IEA Implementing Agreement for Cooperation in Development of the Stellarator Concept (2.10.1992).
