Top Anti-Top production at the NNLO level — •Peter Bärnreuther and Michael Czakon — Institut für Theoretische Physik und Astrophysik, Universität Würzburg

In this talk, I present the motivation for a precise theory prediction of the top pair production cross section at the top factory, i.e. at the LHC. Besides reviewing the different applications of the process, I present the recent advances at the NNLO level in QCD. In particular, I explain how to obtain the complete virtual corrections in the gluon fusion channel starting from its high energy behaviour. Some details of the computational techniques will be described.
