Beauty photoproduction measured from inclusive dijet events in ep collisions at HERA — •Ana Yagues — DESY, Notkestrasse 85, Hamburg

The production of b quarks is being studied in dijet events in photoproduction (Q² <1 GeV²) with the ZEUS detector at HERA using an integrated luminosity of 133 pb⁻¹. The installed micro-vertex detector (MVD) is used to determine the beauty fraction from measurements of the secondary vertex position with respect to the primary vertex. The heavy mass of the beauty quark and its long lifetime is exploited to separate beauty signal from background. The beauty fraction is extracted statistically using the decay length significance and invariant mass distributions. The total cross section and differentical cross sections dσ/dp_T^b and dσ/dη^b are measured and compared to previous measurements and next-to-leading order OCD predictions.
