First studies of NNLO QCD predictions for event shapes in e+e− annihilation using JADE data — Siegfried Bethke, •Stefan Kluth, and Jochen Schieck — Max-Planck-Institut für Physik
Complete NNLO QCD predictions for event shape observables for hadron production in e+e- annihilation have recently become available. We compare for the first time JADE data for distributions of the event shape observables 1−T, MH, BT, BW, C and D2 with the NNLO calculations. From fits of the NNLO predictions to the data values of the strong coupling constant are derived. The NNLO prediction is compared to existing predictions in NLO and NLO combined with resummed leading and next-to-leading logs (NLO+NLLA).
