Exclusive dimuon and dielectron production with no significant additional activity in the CMS detector occurs with high cross section in gamma-mediated processes at the LHC. The pure QED process gamma gamma -> ll provides a high-statistics calibration sample, e.g. for luminosity measurements. Photoproduction of Upsilon mesons is another copious source of exclusive dileptons. Already in 100pb-1 of integrated luminosity, the three Upsilon resonances will be clearly visible and their cross sections may be measured. We report about the results of Monte-Carlo studies on selecting exclusively produced dileptons with CMS.
