Development of beamline counters for proton beamtime at FOPI/GSI in search for ppK-, a most fundamental deeply bound kaonic state — •Ken Suzuki — Stefan-Meyer Institut, OEAW
A possible existence of the deeply-bound kaonic states, or often called Kaonic Nuclear Cluster (KNC) is one of the issue which has been most lively and controversially discussed last several years. Discussion goes among theoreticians, among experimentalists and between theoretician and experimentalist however any conclusive statements has been awaited due to lack of solid unambiguous data with rich statistics from dedicatedly performed experiment. We plan to performe an experiment aiming to obtain conclusive data on the most fundamental system of the KNC, a dibaryonic ppK−, at FOPI at GSI. Our proposal of using p+p→ ppK− + K+ at Tp=3.0GeV reaction was well accepted by G-PAC of GSI, and now we are trying to finalize upgrades to the FOPI detector system. In the talk a few beamline counters upgrades to handle high-rate proton beam (more than 1MHz) on the liquid hydrogen target will be discussed.
