Since 1991 the superconducting Darmstadt electron linear accelerator S-DALINAC provides a beam of up to 130 MeV for nuclear and astrophysical experiments. The current status and the developments of the accelerator in the last year will be presented in this talk.

After several years of operation, six out of the ten accelerating cavities have been retuned to recover field flatness again. This minimizes the effect of field emission and improves the cavity performance. Further on, a heat treatment was performed at 800°C inside a vacuum furnace to reduce the amount of hydrogen inside the niobium of those cavities, resulting in lower RF losses when cooled down again.

To complement the existing experimental capabilities, a source of polarized electrons is under construction and tested offline.
