Recent results from FLASH – lasing at 6.5 nm — •Lars Fröhlich — DESY Hamburg — Universität Hamburg
FLASH, the linac-driven Free-Electron Laser in Hamburg, has recently demonstrated lasing at 6.5 nm, the shortest wavelength ever generated in FELs. At typical photon pulse energies from 1 to 50 µJ, an average output power exceeding 55 mW has been reached. While the majority of the beam time is dedicated to user experiments, considerable effort is invested in machine studies in order to advance accelerator technology and performance. The current status of the facility and selected experimental results will be presented.
