ILC positron source modeling — •Andriy Ushakov, Sabine Riemann, and Andreas Schälicke — DESY Zeuthen, Platanenallee 6, D-15738 Zeuthen

For the future International Linear Collider (ILC) a positron source system based on a helical undulator is planned. Depending on the positron source design the degree of beam polarization will be approximately 30% or up to 60% in the upgrade option. The source should deliver an intense beam; the energy deposition in the source components should be as low as possible at acceptable radiation damage and low activation of source parts. The optimization of the source design is the aim of our studies. Therefore source modeling has been performed combining of the advantages of FLUKA, Geant4 and ASTRA simulation codes.
