An up-going neutrino sample with IceCube 22-strings to search for point sources — •Jose Luis Bazo Alba for the IceCube collaboration — DESY Zeuthen, Platanenalle 6, D-15738, Zeuthen

In 2007, the IceCube neutrino detector at the South Pole has collected data in its 22-string configuration. Aiming to optimize the search for neutrino point sources in the energy region of 100 GeV to few PeV, a new filtering and reconstruction scheme is developed and a set of cut parameters is chosen and applied to this data. This results in an improved background rejection and signal retention. The obtained upward-going neutrino sample is presented, as well as its angular resolution, effective area and sensitivity. The status of the search for point sources in the Northern Hemisphere using this sample is also given.
