At the High Intensity Photon Setup (HIPS) at S-DALINAC in Darmstadt 60Ni was investigated with unpolarized bremsstrahlung with energies up to 8.0 MeV and 9.9 MeV, respectively.
Determination of spin and parity quantum numbers and absolute transition strengths was possible, using HPGe detectors placed under different angles.
To assign also parity quantum numbers, the polarized photon beam of the High Intensity Gamma Source (HIγS) at Duke University was used. With the combined results, evidence of the Pygmy Dipole Resonance in 60Ni was found.
