Superconducting properties of YBCO thin film structures with gold nanoclusters — •Marc Teichmann, Martin Pollithy, Katharina Höfer, Sebastian Engmann, Uwe Schinkel, Robert Hähle, Veit Große, Christoph Becker, Frank Schmidl, and Paul Seidel — FSU Jena, Institute of Solid State Physics, Helmholtzweg 5, D-07743 Jena, Germany
For our experiments we used laser ablation to prepare YBa2Cu3O7−X thin films with a film thickness of about 150 nm on (100) SrTiO3 single crystalline substrates as well as on SrTiO3 bicrystalls (24∘ and 30∘ grain boundary angle). X-ray, AFM and SEM investigations were done to determine the crystalline structure and morphology of the prepared thin films with and without gold nanoclusters. Ion beam etching with sample cooling was used to pattern microbridges as well as dc-SQUID and dc-SQUID gradiometer structures. The temperature dependence of the device and the contact resistance, the current-voltage characteristics at different temperatures and the magnetic field dependence were measured.
