Tungsten and carbon fiber composite (CFC) are foreseen as plasma facing components (PFCs) for the divertor region of ITER. One important issue is the redeposition of carbon, which is connected with the codeposition of fuel, and involved material mixing effects. The 3D Monte-Carlo code ERO simulates surface erosion, impurity transport and deposition using a given background plasma. It has been coupled with the Monte-Carlo code SDTrimSP to simulate material mixing processes on PFCs more precisely. Recently, the reaction chain of the ethane family has been implemented into ERO. Experiments were carried out at TEXTOR in which well defined amounts of 13CH4 and 13C2H4 were injected into the plasma through a hole in spherically shaped graphite and tungsten test limiters. The carbon 13C deposition efficiency on the test limiters was determined by post mortem analysis (about 0.8-2.1% relative to amount of injected 13C atoms). The 13C deposition pattern and efficiency are well reproduced by modelling if an enhanced erosion of deposited carbon is assumed. Detailed comparison between modelling and experimental results will be presented.
