All optical diagnostics of ITER fusion reactor will use metallic mirrors as first plasma-viewing elements. Erosion of the mirror surface and deposition of impurities on it strongly decreases the lifetime of these mirrors. Both processes change drastically optical properties of mirrors and, in particular, the reflectivity. That will have an impact on the quality and reliability of detected signals used by respective diagnostic systems. To investigate different candidate materials for ITER mirrors under erosion conditions, an experiment with 3 different mirrors was carried out in TEXTOR tokamak. Single crystal molybdenum (Mo) mirror and two mirrors with molybdenum and rhodium coatings of Mo substrate obtained by evaporation technique were used for the exposure in SOL plasma under erosion-dominated conditions. Results of the experiment including a detailed optical characterization of all mirrors before and after exposure will be presented in this contribution.
