The rms nuclear charge radii of 7,10,11Be have been determined for the first time using frequency-comb based collinear laser spectroscopy on-line. Spectroscopy with two frequency-stabilized dye lasers and combination with recent precise atomic theory calculations allowed us to extract these charge radii. Of particular interest is the nuclear charge radius of 11Be, where one of the neutrons is loosely bound to the 10Be core and creates so called ‘halo nucleus’. The obtained isotope shifts for the D1 and D2-lines and the corresponding charge radii are presented.
