An apparatus for ultracold Fermi gases using sodium and lithium — •Jens Appmeier, Fabienne Haupert, Bernhard Huber, Raphael Scelle, Tobias Schuster, Valentin Volchkov, and Markus K. Oberthaler — Kirchhoff-Institut für Physik, Heidelberg, Germany
We report on the setup of an apparatus for cooling fermionic 6Li atoms to quantum degeneracy. As a refrigerant for the fermions, 23Na is used and standard cooling schemes are applied. By tuning the interactions between 23Na and 6Li via Feshbach resonances it is possible to study different regimes of a mixed system containing both species. The current progress of the experimental setup will be reported.
