We present fully differential data on single and double ionization of CO molecules in ultra short (4fs), linearly polarized, intense (up to 1PW/cm2) laser pulses measured with a *Reaction Microscope*.
Depending on the carrier-envelope-phase (CEP) of the laser pulses we see strong changes in the momentum distributions and emission directions of created C+ and C++ ions. This is a clear indication for geometrical alignment of the molecule in the ultra short pulse.
The CEP-dependent asymmetry parameters (A=NLNR/NL+NR, where NL and NR means the number of fragments emitted to the left and to the right hemisphere, respectively) for dissociation (COC+ + O) and Coulomb explosion (COC+ + O+) exhibit a phase shift of about π/2 with respect to each other. Experimental results and first interpretations will be presented.
