Nonadiabatic Quantum Dynamics and Laser Control in of Br2 in Solid Argon — •Oliver Kühn1, Antonio Accardi2, and Alexander Borowski2 — 1Institut für Physik, Universität Rostock — 2Institut für Chemie und Biochemie, Freie Universität Berlin
In this presentation the focus will be on some general issues concerning the treatment of laser driven nonadiabatic multidimensional quantum dynamics of complex systems. As a specific example Br2 occupying a double substitutional site in solid Ar is discussed [1]. It is shown how the complexity can systematically be reduced by introducing a Cartesian Reaction Surface Vibronic Coupling model [2,3]. The latter is suited for a quantum dynamics study employing the multiconfiguration time-dependent Hartree approach [4]. In the analysis special emphasis is payed to the role of conical intersections which are responsible for the B to C predissociation. Finally, active control of the nonadiabatic dynamics using shaped laser pulses is demonstrated [5].
