Determination of parton density functions using Monte Carlo generators — Federico von Samson-Himmelstjerna and •Martin von den Driesch — FH1, DESY, Notkestr.85, 22607 Hamburg

We present a new determination of parton density functions (PDFs) which can be used in Monte Carlo Generators (PDF4MC). The MC is used to predict F2 and F2c and the predictions are fitted to HERA-DIS-data by varying the parameters of the gluon- and sea-quark-PDFs. Furthermore the influence of parton showers on the results is investigated. In this talk the approach will be introduced in detail and a comparison of the obtained PDFs with PDFs provided by CTEQ will be given.
