Determination of Differential Cross Sections in Semileptonic Top Pair Decays with the CMS Detector — •Christoph Rosemann1, Alexander Flossdorf1, Joachim Mnich1, Dirk Dammann1, Achim Geiser1, and Roger Wolf2 — 1DESY, Hamburg — 2Universität Hamburg
The LHC will produce pairs of top quarks at a high rate, making the determination of differential cross sections possible for the first time. This provides the means to a structural test of the Standard Model. In the talk a complete analysis of events using the full detector simulation of CMS is presented. Special care is taken to provide an accurate object definition, with emphasis on leptons and jets. The second main focus is the formulation of an effective and unbiased selection. Some resulting differential spectra are presented.
