Higgs Boson Searches at the Tevatron — •Michiel Sanders — Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität, München, Germany

The success of the standard model depends on the breaking of the electroweak symmetry by the Higgs mechanism. As a consequence of this symmetry breaking, a still undiscovered particle, the Higgs boson, is predicted to exist. In this presentation, I will discuss the state of the search for the standard model Higgs boson with the DZero and CDF experiments at the Tevatron collider at Fermilab. I will discuss in particular the associated WH and ZH production at Higgs masses below 150 GeV. I will also briefly look into the future at the expected sensitivity of the Tevatron experiments in the next few years, during the startup period of the LHC.
