At the neutron source FRM II in Munich a new lab for production of UCN will be installed within the next three years. This facility will deliver UCN densities up to 104 UCN cm−3 for precise fundamental low energy experiments like the lifetime τ n of the free neutron (δ τ n <0.1s), determining a possible finite electric dipole moment of the neutron with a precision of 10−28 e cm and also investigations on the quantum states of neutron in a gravitational field. The talk will give an overview on the status of the design and construction of the new UCN lab and the planed experiments with UCN. This work is supported by MLL, DFG and the Cluster of Excellence EXC 153.
