Reconstruction of physics events in the presence of beam induced bacgrounds at the International Linear Collider — •Katarzyna Wichmann — DESY, Notkestraße 85, 22603 Hamburg, Germany

Beam induced backgrounds at the International Linear Collider (ILC) have been studied in detail. It is clear that they will substantially contribute to signals from real physics events at the interaction point registered in the International Large Detector (ILD). Reducing these backgrounds is essential for proper functioning of the ILD software reconstruction scheme. In this study, effects of such beam backgrounds for different components of the ILD detector and for the reconstruction of physics events have been investigated. Different methods of reducing the beam backgrounds are presented, as well as their influence on the quality of the physics reconstruction. Some important aspects of the reconstruction, like particle flow algorithm and heavy flavor tagging, are discussed in detail. Results show that in the presence of the beam induced backgrounds, the reconstruction of physics events with the ILD detector at the ILC is possible and gives similar accuracy as in the case of the reconstruction of background free physics events.
